Inteligencia cultural y competencias interculturales de estudiantes de ingeniería en tiempos de globalización

dc.descriptionEn este trabajo se presenta el análisis de una encuesta acerca de las competencias interculturales de estudiantes avanzados de diversas carreras de la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad Nacional de Jujuy. Desde un enfoque cualitativo se interpretan y se discuten los resultados que demuestran el estado actual del conocimiento a partir de una autoevaluación de los/las estudiantes, la perspectiva que tienen en relación a intercambios con otras culturas en el marco de su carrera y la necesidad de obtener más conocimiento no solamente desde el manejo lingüístico sino también de contenidos culturales dentro de los currículos de las carreras en ingeniería. Concluimos que, ante la situación global y una exitosa inserción laboral de los ingenieros y las ingenieras en el futuro, se deben pensar nuevas estrategias para aumentar la inteligencia cultural entre los/las estudiantes que incluyan tanto contactos internacionales como la interacción con la cultura local.
dc.descriptionThis paper analyzes the results of a survey on intercultural competences of advanced students from different careers of the Engineering Faculty of the National University of Jujuy. From a qualitative and self-reflective approach, the research seeks to interpret and discuss the results constituting a baseline on the perception of intercultural competencies that serve as input for the design of future interventions. In addition, a focus group discussion is included where students articulated the interest and the need to obtain more knowledge regarding cultural topics not only from the linguistic management, but also of cultural contents within the curricula of engineering careers. Considering the global situation, the findings show that, for a successful labor insertion of engineers in the future, new strategies should be taken into account to increase cultural intelligence among students that include both international contacts and interaction with the local culture.
